My mom and I came here based off of a recommendation Isabella Bolyston posted to her Instagram! It was a cute small restaurant located in a very colourful neighborhood. We were greeted by a very sweet waitress upon walking in and immediately seated. We were seated along a bar table against the wall. There were QR codes we used to check out the menu and place our order. To start, my mom and I shared the Ebi Katsu - shrimp. It was sooo good. It was warm, crispy, and the sauce to dip it in was really yummy. The cucumbers provided a refreshing addition to the dish. For entree, I got some Tsukemen ramen. You can choose between warm or cold noodles (with the cold labeled as more traditional). I opted for the cold noodles! When it came, the noodles and toppings were in one bowl with the broth in a separate bowl. I would dip my noodles into the broth and eat! It was very delicious. I live in California but admittedly the experience here felt unique from any I've had on the west coast. The broth was thicker and very flavorful - so delicious! The noodles and toppings were all cooked perfectly and went well together. Overall, I had a really nice time here and would come back! Definitely recommend for some yummy food to anyone wanting to check them out.

Visited Okiboru on a Saturday right when they opened at noon. The restaurant quickly filled up, but there was never a line. You order by QR code, and my food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. I ordered two pork buns and the Tontori with spicy sauce on the side. The pork buns were great - the pork was super fatty and melted in the mouth. I know the thing to order at Okiboru is their Tsukemen but I was really craving pork broth for a chilly day! The broth was flavorful and I loved the texture of the noodles. Would happily visit again.

I absolutely love tsukemen and will always eat at a tsukemen spot if there's one around. Okiboru was some of the best tsukemen I've had! I was worried there would be a line, so I got there right after 5 and was seated right away. The tsukemen here isn't the cheapest, but it's hearty! I split a bowl with my partner since I knew we were going to get a second dinner, and it was a great portion for a snack. We added the ajitama and it was cooked perfectly. The noodles had a great chew to them, and the tsukemen sauce/broth/whatever you want to call it wasn't too salty like I find some places to be! It had a great savory flavor to it. Would recommend ordering it with cold noodles as that's the traditional way even if the weather is cold. The broth is pretty hot, so it'll warm up the noodles! Also shoutout to the hostess/waitress who was the cutest and nicest woman ever. She was super sweet and would guide people on where to sit away from the door since it was a cold and windy day! Honestly, she alone made coming here worth it.

Wow this is some of the best tsukemen I've had in the US! I'm really torn between here and Tsujita in LA... but Okiboru's noodles are perfectly chewy, the chashu and broth are so rich, while the squeeze of lime perfectly brightens up the dish. Literal perfection. I also like how they give the option to have either cold or warm noodles (I prefer cold but warm is a good option for winter). Also tried the ebi katsu which was hot and crispy and delicious- you can't go wrong with fried shrimp! My vegan friend also appreciated that there was a vegan option, and enjoyed his tsukemen immensely as well- so bonus points for that. There can be a wait, but the line moves fast and they try to get people in and out. It's a bit cramped inside but once you're seated you just scan the QR code at your seat and order/pay on your phone. Food comes out quickly. The lady who runs the seating is so nice and efficient, 10/10 for her alone! There is only 1 restroom and it's down the stairs in the back.

Came here in a brisk Wednesday night to grab ramen with some friends. The place was packed, but seats turned over quickly! The staff was super friendly and accommodating too. We each got the Tsukemen, which was incredibly delicious and fun to eat! I also got a few extras, such as the egg, spicy paste, and both chicken + pork (and both were equally delicious). We also split a couple of the buns and fries (not pictured) and those were delicious too. Will be back again!

To be honest, I didn't know that this place was popular and that it was hard to get in since it's so small, but since the place my friend and I were going to get brunch at was packed, we were so lucky to get a seat right away on this cold winter's day. The food was very delicious. At the Okiboru House of Tsukemen, the menu is quite simple, you either get ramen or tsukemen, so of course, I got the tsukemen. You use the QR code at your seat to order and pay. Then the staff come to deliver your order. It's very efficient. The way you eat tsukemen is that you dip the noodles into the sauce.

I arrived at 5pm on a Thursday evening and was seated immediately. The staff is very friendly and work hard to keep the restaurant service moving quickly. The line gets very long at this place so I recommend coming early. You order by scanning the QR code at your designated seat. It is convenient because you pay through the QR code and the servers will then bring the food. It is a casual quiet place with bar seating only. Service is quick and the ramen is great for a cold winter day. The broth of the ramen is rich and creamy without being overwhelming. The pork belly is decadent, soft, and melts in your mouth. The ramen is a very authentic Japanese style. The noodles are thin and cooked perfectly al dente. I've been here several times and will keep coming back for more.

Casual, bustling counter top tsukemen shop with delicious noodles, and the best tsukemen I've had in nyc so far! The inside is pretty tiny and lines outside can end up getting long. Thankfully, once you're seated, everything is very efficient. Ordering and paying is done via QR code and the waitstaff will bring out orders to the corresponding numbered seat. I ordered the tontori and my partner ordered the tsukemen. The texture of the noodles in both dishes were amazing - perfectly qq! The tontori soup was so rich and umami. Definitely will be back!

The life span of a restaurant's popularity rarely lasts beyond the first few weeks or month after they open, but now it's been over two years since Okiboru opened this House of Tsukemen and there are always lines down the block. Winter or summer, you can expect to wait. It is indeed a compact space, but they make great use of it, have a hyper efficient ordering system, and a simple menu that makes this quite the operation, churning our delicious bowls of dipping ramen for vegetarians and omnivores alike. You can expect your bowl to hit your table mere minutes after you submit your order. I love that they have chicken chashu and broth available for those of us who don't consume swine, and they don't skimp on the portions. The sauce is sooo tasty and cling to each noodle strand so well, making each bite so satisfying. You can even order kaedama if you want an extra serving of noodles. The menu is very simple, so you better go in liking dipping noodles to like this place. The ingredients are top notch, and I've yet to find a dipping noodle spot that tastes better. I'd eat here multiple times a month if I could just pop in.

Not as good as tsukemen you can get in Japan but tsukemen here hits the spot and is one of the few dedicated restaurants in NYC to tsukemen (a lot of Japanese restaurants serve it is one of many menu items). The ordering process is via QR code and you pay when you place the order. You can also place your order with the waitress and she will give you a check to pay before your food comes as well. I wish the noodles were thicker and broth just a touch thicker to hold onto noodles a bit better but the texture of noodles and flavor of broth were good. When you order online you can choose from cold and warm noodles - I'd recommend the cold so it can maintain texture and have more of a chew. However if you prefer your food softer and less of a chew, get the warm noodles. I also added an egg because what's a good noodle without the texture and flavor of a yolky egg, but flavor was underwhelming. Fatty part of the pork was delicious and melted in my mouth while some of the lean parts were a little drier. I asked if the restaurant had sancho pepper to add an oomph to my noodles and broth but she had no idea what I was talking about - slight bummer because I used the condiment in Japan with tsukemen and it was so good. However the bowl does come with a lime which if you squeeze over your noodles then dip it, has a similar flavor effect. Plenty of seating when I went on a weekend midday and didn't have to wait. Not much of an ambiance but you can go alone and bring a book or iPad or enjoy it with a friend. I'll be back!
